So @seawriter and I got together and I have started a show. In our latest episode we decided to talk about D Day through the eyes of film and how those films may or may have reflected actual history.
We talked about Saving Private Ryan, The Big Red One, The Longest Day, Storming Juno and Band of Brothers.
We start with the role of Bangalore torpedoes, discuss tanks both funny and amphibious and try to decide if this or Okinawa was the largest naval invasion.
We meander through a few other theatres as well, including Italy, the Western Dessert and some possible spots including Pas de Calais and Sardinia.
So sit down and hear our take on the Longest Day.
Here is a list of everything I can find that I have written and published so far.
I already know I need to find some of my old articles. So this list is not complete just what I found on short notice.
